Safety Management

As a Safety Director & Manager I have assured 100% compliance & training of over 75+ team members with 0.0 accident rating on the most complex & largest project in NYC history during my tenure. Being responsible for strategic safety leadership across multiple (72) project locations and 55K Assets across the entire organization. Oversee multiple Site Safety Managers (SSM) who handle daily, site-specific enforcement. I have developed company-wide safety policies, manage the overall safety budget, lead the safety department, and ensures compliance with strict NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) regulations and OSHA standards.

Key Responsibilities and Scope of Work

Strategic Safety Management

Designing, implementing, and monitoring company-wide health and safety programs (e.g., HASPs, Site-Specific Safety Plans). 

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight

Ensuring all projects comply with NYC Building Code Chapter 33, OSHA regulations, and FDNY Fire Code Chapter 14.

Leadership and Team Management

Leading & mentoring a team of safety managers, coordinators & inspectors as well as train the entire organization in quality control & safe practices.

Incident Management and Investigation

Leading investigations into serious accidents, incidents, or near-misses, and developing corrective action plans and lessons learned to prevent recurrence of incidents.

DOB and External Liaison

Acting as the primary liaison between the clients, company upper management and regulatory agencies, including the DOB, DOT, OSHA, third party inspectors and insurance carriers.

Training and Culture

Developing and facilitating training programs for the entire organization including SST and promoting an “Incident & Injury Free” culture.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
Reviewing high-risk activities and Rigging / Erecting lifts and conducting daily site audits at all 72- locations / 55K Assests to identify potential issues.

  • Review Fire/ Life Safety & MEP Project Specifications/ Drawings on multi software systems, approved submittals and specifications and write effective RFIs as needed 
  • As required, perform preparatory phase meetings with all subcontractors and confirm readiness to work onsite including all JHAs and MOPs reviewed with teams and signed off for record
  • Review/ approved MEP mockups for equipment or specific systems as required per specifications 
  • Document and track all required QA/QC deliverables and test reports during L2 and L3 (NETA, Short Circuit Study, Torque/Megger sheets, TAB etc…) 
  • Ensure that all set-in place inspection checklists are completed by JLL-SKAE and the subs/vendors 
  • Perform final equipment inspection & Pre Commissioning testing prior to L3 Energization.
  • Assist with the development of methods of procedure (MOP’s) for site specific equipment and systems. 
  • Track and organize all required documentation for L1-L3 on Procore or other software platform 
  • Record observations and issues in the required software platform during walk throughs and inspections
